West Canada by Westcan on Thu, May 12
Fished the WC today 10a-1p. In the 20 odd years I have been fishing there, I have never seen the destruction of the river bed and banks as I saw today. The river bed below Trenton Falls Bridge has changed with huge trees laying into the river and the man sized rocks that used to be there, are gone and I don't know where. The riverbank is piled up to 6ft high with piles of rocks and debris so you must walk back into the woods to get downstream. In another area 1 mile downstream there were "logs" up to 12" in diameter and other debris wedged up in trees 10 feet or more off the ground. This was 30 ft away from the river bank! It was quite an eye opener.
Caught 1 12" brown below the falls with size 8 wooley bugger. The rest of the trout must have gotten flushed down to Herkimer.

I'm sure, given the time, all will heal. over the millennia this has happened again and again, yet the insects, fish and all things wild come back even stronger. maybe we will too!
Thanks for the update. Keep the faith, better days are coming.
